A Simple Conjure Spell to Clear Negative Energy!

There comes a point when you realize it’s time to stop playing small. For me, that moment hit hard. It wasn’t just about wanting change—it was about knowing I had to change. My practice, my purpose, my connection to Spirit—it all needed an upgrade. The truth is, life doesn’t wait for you to feel ready. If you don’t claim your power, something else will fill that space, and nine times out of ten, it’s not what you want.

Hoodoo conjure is a sacred practice of the ancestors. It’s grounded, it’s raw, and it works. This isn’t some over-the-top ritual you need hours to prepare for. This is simple, effective, and straight to the point—just like the ancestors intended. I learned about Hoodoo and its beautiful roots back in 2014, thanks to my Caribbean descent and family. It wasn't till recently, I realized there was something was missing and this was it. Simple conjure and going back to the bascics.

This is for anyone who feels weighed down by heaviness they can’t quite name. Whether it’s doubt, bad vibes, or some lingering mess from a person you’ve already outgrown, this spell clears the path. Let’s get into it.

What You’ll Need

  • A small white candle (to call in light and clarity)

  • A bowl of water (for cleansing and transmuting)

  • A handful of salt (purification and boundaries)

  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (to kick negativity out the door)

  • A piece of paper and a pen

  • A little Florida water or any cleansing spray (optional, but it sets the tone)

Getting Ready: Clearing the Space

Before you even start, take a moment to clean up—physically and energetically. Sweep the floors, wipe down your surfaces, open a window if you can. Spray a little Florida water around, and as you do, say something like:" I’m clearing this space of all energy that’s not mine or not aligned with my highest good. Nothing stays here that doesn’t belong."

This part matters because energy lingers. You don’t want to work in a space that’s still holding yesterday’s drama.

The Ritual

  1. Set the Intention Sit down with your paper and write exactly what you’re releasing. Be specific, but keep it simple. You’re not writing an essay. Think:

    • “The anxiety that’s been weighing me down.”

    • “The energy of that argument lingering in my home.”

Be honest. Nobody’s judging you here.

  2. Prepare the Cleansing Bowl Fill your bowl with water. Add a handful of salt and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Hold it in your hands and say: “Water, take what doesn’t belong. Salt, protect me. Fire, burn through what’s heavy. Together, cleanse me and restore my power.”

Feel the bowl becoming more than just water—it’s your tool now.

  3. Anoint and Light the Candle Take your white candle and anoint it with a little oil—any oil works. As you do, say: “This flame is my guide. It burns away what I don’t need and lights the way forward. ”Place it beside the bowl and light it. Watch that flame. Let it remind you of your own inner fire.

  4. Burn What You’re Releasing Take the paper you wrote on, fold it up, and carefully light the edge with the candle’s flame. Drop it into the water bowl and watch it burn out. Say: “As this paper burns, so does the weight I’ve been carrying. As it turns to ash, so does all that holds me back. It is done.”

Watch the water extinguish the flame. It’s symbolic—it’s your energy putting out what no longer serves you.

  5. Close the Ritual Sit with the candle for a moment. Let the flame burn out on its own if you can. If not, snuff it out with intention. Take the water outside and pour it away, far from your home, saying: “I return this energy to the earth. It’s no longer mine to hold.”

Aftercare

Once it’s done, take a minute to check in with yourself. How do you feel? Lighter? Calmer? That’s the shift. But don’t stop here—follow up with action. Whether it’s smudging your space, journaling, or just staying mindful of what you allow into your energy, keep the momentum going.

This ritual isn’t just about clearing negativity—it’s about reclaiming your space, your energy, your power. Every time you do this, you’re showing up for yourself, and that’s the real magic.

When I say I’m leveling up, I mean it. This is the season for owning your light and clearing everything that tries to dims it!
